throttle cable

help i have one strand holding my throttle cable togehter. its a 13sr and no one seems to have a replacement one listed ( big M, halfords) can i replace it with some other kind of wire like a break cable off a push bike????????

go to a motor factors and get one from there, failing that go to a local (non vaux)garage and get them to order one for you from their suppliers.
