I am a noob to the whole mk1s and the sr business

i am off the look at a b-reg swing/spin tommorow
which hopefully i can get for peanuts, and eventually sr rep it
as its a b-reg would it be an earlier sr
but there is two different kinds of sr's
isn'nt there??? lol

Can someone enlighten me please

MK1 SR with the snow plough (obviously mine isn't one) it would have the grey vinyl on the door bottoms also. These had brown burberry seats also.

Good replies.

I always think of it as 1.3SR upto D/E reg with 1 piece bumper & grille. A & B reg cars had Brown trim.

Facelifted mk1 1.3 SR from E/F reg which became 1.4 on some G reg cars. This had grey 'Rainbow' interior trim the 2 piece GTE style fr end, the grab handle on the tailgate & tilt & slide sunroof.

Mk2 1.4 SR with new dash & bumpers/lights etc, from Aug 90 (H)

Mk1 base model was indeed the Swing - Pretty much nothing in it

The Mk2 variant was the Spin (which I have) and came with nothing as well

No rear speakers, no fag lighter, no clock, no rear speakers etc

Snowplough SR looks the bee's knees. Think RJ is right on the 'spin' name. Only came in MK2 IIRC

I knew there were differences,
And it is a swing, the wings are dented paint is sh1tty flaking etc
But the arches are like new and so are the doors bonnet boot etc just the wings and bumper that are dented.
I also heard the 1.2 is foobered.
It is at my local bp and i think they are scrapping it so i will offer scrap money :thumb:

Hope you get it, does't sound lke it needs much work. dents and dings are easily done.

Yea i was blanking them out and thinking how good the shell actually is. The paint is blaaady awful so i cant see them wanting to sell it!! lol
It prob needs
two front wings
new bumper(snow plough :thumb: )
13sb (which i have)
1 dent on rear wing sorted
then respray
EASY lol

sounds like a simple project. Check the underside mate make sure it's clean under there.

because the paint is really terrible
it makes me think it has had an accident/respray
as it has a boot with a grab handle on
and wings with no side repeaters in
is this normal as i thought they come with the
round style locks in the back

If it's a B reg then no need for side repeaters. But yes it should have a round lock boot.

alot of people over the years scrapped early sr seats in favour of gsi ones etc.

they probably think they should of kept them, worth quit a bit now.
