What cam should be run on a e16se turbo conversion? I have a 270 profile cam and a piper cam adjustable pulley, will that be any use. Or do i have to use the standard cam and pulley?

Any info would be great :)

A custom grind cam ideally.
If not, use the standard one.

A "good" NA cam doesnt make a "good" cam for a turbo engine

Unless its the XE inlet cam in place of the LET inlet cam :)

Ideally a turbo specific cam will have 'less' overlap between the inlet & exhaust valve openings.

I had a Courtenay (piper) mild cam on my turbo & it was fine, it seemed to produce full boost a tad earlier than when I re-fitted the std cam which seemed to make it a little slower to produce max pressure. I wouldnt call it lag, just a sensation I was feeling, however it did seem stronger & higher revving on the std cam. So I'd advise against using an aftermarket (costly) cam tbh. Keep the vernier though, you can set it up more accurately & get a few more bhp most likely.

Are you planning to run a decomp spacer or not?
