do people drive horrible things like these?

etc etc etc

A more dreary, uninspiring, hideously ugly mundane section of the market does not exist!

I can see the attraction (in theory) but your god are they ugly! Only now are they slightly better looking. IMO that's because normal hatches are growing taller and bridging the gap though. :/ GAY.

Driving these vehicular abominations are 9/10 times the t0sser that does 40mph on national speed limit roads whatever the weather. On the occasions you overtake/pull alongside them they all look like they have given up on life. lol Or scowl at you just fo doing more than 50mph on the motorway.

This type of modern shed JUST edges the likes of the Hyundai Getz, Kia Picanto and any other crap from dog eating countries that won't last 10 years in being more annoying to encounter.
The worst bit is, both of these types of cars are driven by muppets with no interest whatsoever in driving and are usually the new breed of slower drivers that panic and hesitate at any given moment, yet do not know what AVERAGE speed check means and sit on your ar$e when you can not go any faster.

I'm sure I'm not alone? :thumb:

Multiplurghs are just ugly IMO, but as time goes on they look a lot better than some of the new crap we're being forced to look at every day.
Just a disabled owner for that Noooo-va I reckon Southie.

Put it in the 90's thread. Maybe it's 'old skool kool' lolz. Looks more noughties mind, or should that be naughty?

Its a G-Wizz thing?! I never saw the Top Gear where they developed a hatred for those things, but everyone seems to despise them lol.

That Mini Clubman must have been painted, the only one they ever were lucky enough to sell was red last time I saw it. lol

Another shoe/bread van :/

What about the Spanish for doesn't go? NO VA

Lols at Opel Ascona

Jack
16-12-09, 05:10 PM
^ the "nova" thing is an urban legend. "No va" in Spanish actually translates to "will not", not "no go".

Its not a modern thing either, ugly cars have been around for decades.

Check out anything by AMC. Any wonder why they went TU years ago?

Mmmm, inappropriately named Pacer

Mmmm, appropriately named Gremlin

Mmmm, the nicely fronted Javelin. Lookit, a good looking AMC!

I'm sure Nova/No-go has been proven to be BS. Funny stuff on the link though. lol

AMC Gremlin pic link fail. lol

The Pacer FTW. Even though they are sh1t. Have you never seen the Mirth mobile? lol

AdamG

I think the Pacer had one door longer than the other to make it easier to get in the back.

Jack
16-12-09, 06:50 PM
Seriously?! Thats brilliant... plus it makes Clarkson's statement of the Cube being the only car to be different on the O/S and N/S to be false :p

Win lol

Also unique at the time, the passenger door was four inches (101 mm) longer than the driver's. This made passenger loading easier, particularly from the rear seats; and they would also tend to use the safer curb side in countries that drive on the right. Ford used this design element in the 1990s Ford Windstar minivan.

Just checked on wikipedia (not the most reliable source)

"Also unique at the time, the passenger door was four inches (101 mm) longer than the driver's. This made passenger loading easier, particularly from the rear seats; and they would also tend to use the safer curb side in countries that drive on the right (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_on_the_left_or_right). Ford used this design element in the 1990s Ford Windstar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Windstar) minivan."

Mini Clubman is different on one side also, it has a small door that opens the other way to help back seat passengers.

I have one of these! The 1.9's actually quite fun, yet body roll is awful and the heater is worse than a Nova, their hideous but very practical!
