Cams, pocketed pistons and a nice big set of 45 ITB's. Oh, and dont forget some cap bolts for the big ends.

seriously thinking about a let.

If you have the money, then get a let. Tbh a high power xe 200bhp (without n2o) Is not going to be much cheaper to build than buying a standard let. But if you want the xe then some lumpy cams, pistons, and some sort of ITB's
Have you got a good ex manifold on there or just a system? as that would also be a good port of call!

ive had an xe with cams and 48 webers and it went well but when i put let in its in a different league its emense and to get an xe to 200bhp would cost more than a let a let would be around 1k throttle boddies alone would be more than that

^^^ yeh thats what I was getting at, having never been in a let or driven one for that matter I can only go on what people say they are like....let sounds like a good option if you have the cash.....or v6 could be fun
Pssh, £1k for a measely 200bhp.
Spend a couple of hundred and get 210bhp :d

ye but 210 with limited tuning or 200bhp that can be 280 with a chip change also the torque is better with a let you cylinder hore
8lbft isn't much you know :p coughLAGcough
Pfft to your fish and chips. I'll have me one of these then :d

Sorry did someone say a let conversion is only a grand ?
Jesus I'm obviously doing things wrong LOL
A let installed with a F28 is more than a grand, IMO to do half sensibly its 2k and that wont include a diff.
Having 280hp is one thing, having a car that can handle that power is another and thus costs more money, tbh no different with a 200hp xe either.
Its more about the overall package than the power it has unless were trying to look and sound good down the local Waitrose car park
2 extra cylinders
Would weigh you down too much, and make you look gay :p

pfff I would rather the noise of TBs too! lol
But essentailly what James said - I have seen SOOOO many Lets that are fitted and left with 256mm brakes and stadard shocks and 'uprated' springs its frightening....
bin the FSE.
the rest of the mods bar the nitrous mean little or nothing imho.

i was looking at the cost of an engine and since the car already has an xe half the work is done and the shafts and mounts bar the gearbox mount will be the same thats what i was getting at with the 1k

Razorjack (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=5515), got a bmw 325i (e36) thanks lol, good fun this time of year.
Jonlem (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=8741), "Its more about the overall package than the power it has" my nova's got coilovers, polybush's, rose jointed front end, rollcage, bigger brakes etc etc.
just wondered if there was any mods that could help her along. got bet by my friends e46 M3 lol, thanks any way.
fit a 1.2 Serious power right there.
Where abouts in essex are you from?

to beat the m3 you will need a tuned let or a mental speck xe imo
Gearbox mount is different as its a waste of time using a F20.
What nitrous kit have you got and what power are you running on it ?
Jet sizes etc.. ?
I know its not permanent power but we put had out nova into the low 9's to 100mph only using gas and that is properly fast when thats Datron timed not Casio watched timed.
PS We have Tesco here but you will probably get car jacked by the local Polski crew lol

The green nova we had OFF gas was faster than my mates 2003 E46 M3 in a straight line lol
On gas it would destroy Gavs 440hp GTR and I mean destroy :thumb:

AW06 (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=22479), near colchester mate. you?
Jonlem (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=8741), your green one sounds like a lot of fun!
i've gotta a wizard of nos kit, 50 pony jets its not progressive or any thing like that.
Put it on 100hp, 200/90 jetting if on 3 bar fuel pressure.
Get a bottle heater and change the plugs (if you haven't already) to a set of NGK BCR8ES
I ran that on my own white one for a year I used over 30 bottles without any failures

Getting more power from an XE isnt easy with the SFi tbh. As stated in this thread, either put up with it or plan to spend big money on a LET or TB's.
Personally I would put my money into a diff, proper tyres, traction aids & suchlike first.
Theres no shame in losing out to a 3litre+ BMW. The old XE is only 2 litres remember & not geared for anywhere near the speed the M3 is.

Does not like.
I wouldn't be ashamed to lose to an M3 either. Just let his tyres down then you'll win lol

Was that on a controller???
At times no but even when it was it was literally set to the bare minimum.
Gav ran his against me with no diff and no controller and equalled my pb, he never had a engine issue either
What Limpy Lee said + nitrous into the trumpets... WIN
For proper porn, some sort of external injector setup :)
