tyres were flat pumped up now and brakes wernt on and all wheels are free and turning its just the ground is so wet and its like plowing with the front drivers wheel and the van just keeps wheel spinning jag should pull it straight off with the rear wheel drive

well a quick update no pics sorry was to busy to find camera and the tea monkey had left me grafting on my own

anyway managed to get the engine out of the gsi today have transfered the alternator and all wiring looms to the new engine just got to change the fly wheel in the morning then it can got back in torque converter is off thank sloth for the info, only disaster was i broke the brake master cylinder resovire but luckily that is one of the parts left on the donor most were stripped when i got it lol. on the plus side although i have no idea of milage the new engine is alot cleaner than the old one and it has compression and isnt siezed so bonus and it did sound nice a year ago when i bought it lol

changed the alternator as it was new 2 weeks before it blew and there a pain in the ass to change when the engine is in

AlexW

well not updated this for a while finished the engine ages since and its now been on the road for about 6 months, running great, but today i had some time on my hands so thought id start the other bigish jobb i had planned for it.

So started fitting the LPG!!!!!!

I bought the kit about 18 month since off ebay but me being my usual lazy self has just left it sat in the garage, but with the price of fuel 132.9 now when lpg is 71.9 thought it was about time i pulled my fingure out.

The kit is a single poinnt mixer kit so works like a carb, it was orrigionaly on an omega v6, so bar a couple of little changes it should be a simple job.

Bolted the tank in
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/0fff1d66.jpg
ran pippes front to rear and to filler (tank all plumbed in just needs wire connecting)
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/1169749b.jpg
filler fitted (tidy job considering i didnt have a hole cutter lol)
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/9f0c5885.jpg
worked out the wiring
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/477fbd15.jpg
now the problem is the idle control valve the omega runs an icv like an xe so its easy to connect it to gas the vectra dosent so i have 2 options
1 make a plate to fit were the icv bolts on the vectra inlet and ruun an xe icv
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/7dd31a69.jpg
or enclose the standard icv so i can send gas to it
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/62b58473.jpg
not sure which will be best but im leaning towards the first option

ordered the new mixer a few days ago so when that turns up i can fit the vaporiser and selonoid and wire it all up omega runs twin throttle bodys so the origional mixxers are no good.

lpg noooooooo ! we have done three engines over the past few weeks due to lpg !!!

v6 are £100 (i made a profit on the last vectra cdx £86 off egay with no interior took engine out weighed shell in and got £109) so if it pops it pops, i know of alot of cars runing it with no problems, its all down to the set up mine will be going to be set up proply once fitted, and if it was so bad vauxhall wouldnt of fitted it. based onn a difference of £0.60 its £36 a tank cheaper thats a win for me its a banger run about not a show stoper, the loon will also be going on to it but will be having sequential injection.

22-03-11, 07:30 PM

well today saw the continuation of the franking zilla lpg conversion under the bonnet is finished could do with a new single outlet control to tidy things up a little but just wanna see it working first there is just the live left to connect but i wanted to check the wiring in the pics of the old car i have before i conect that, was worried it wouldnt run again wile i was on with it, splicing the main engine wiring loom but after i finished it runs on petrol still so just check the wiring and connect the live and should be running on gas which at 67p at local gas supplier is a bargin

heres a few pics didnt take many as was fecking busy i know it aint the tidiest conversion but want to check it runs then i can tidy it up and bugger me was it tight to get everything in there

inlets striped to get access to injector loom omega injector loom had a different plug so had to splice the wiring on the vectra one
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/a599e2ac.jpg
vaporiser fitted
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/5587df2e.jpg
omfg were do all the wires and pipes go
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/77c77306.jpg
almost back together
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/04f0a8dd.jpg
wires over wing are for the control unit and tank sut off valve now all run inside the car and the skutle is all replaced, tryed the car and it still runs all be it on petrol as there is no live to the lpg system so cant have fecked the wiring that bad lol

blue_peg_16v
06-04-11, 07:12 PM
well checked the wiring good job too as the tank was wrong, fired it up and it kept dieing when reved then realized that the tank wasnt switched on switched it on and brum brum but wont idle so turned gas up and it ran went a bit to far and got a back fire oops turned it back down and it runs again just got to sort the icv

Well the vectra started to run like poo the otherday so thought I'd give it a service (I haven't bothered since changing the engine even the oil was still the same as in the CDC the engine came from

Found the reason for crap runnIng look at what I found in number 1
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/6a7b6e78.jpg
