my nova is a 1.4 nv, now make no mistake i no this is no performance car and not a fast car by any standards but im a bit confused. the reason for this is my mate owns a 1.2 corsa automatic peice of crap and my car is not as quick as it? any ideas how this can be?:confused: :thumb:

When was the last time you gave it a service? i.e plugs changed oil dropped blah blah blah
Also is it timed up correctly?
What Corsa is it btw b,c,d...

changed oil the other week plugs and leads 3 months ago and its a corsa b

basically the lad who i had the car off fuc.ed the 5 speed in it and he got the 4 speed from an astra his mate was scrapping. and no havent cleaned the carb, and yhea dose feel underpowered:thumb:

no defo a 1.4 my mates got a 1.4 sr and its the same engine exept for his is faster? and my mates 1.3 sr is faster none of them can understand it either

so vauxhall stamped the engine wrong and decided to put 1.4 on the log book for a laugh? and my mates 1.4sr must be a 1.2 aswell considering its the same engine them who work at vauxhall are a bunch of jokers arnt theylol

makes me laugh when people say stop racing with all these people putting 2.0l in a nova sure they do it just so they can say its a 2.0l lol
Clean your carb mate (maybe better to get a twin choke webber),.. get a four branch manifold, cheap for slit vacuum pipes etc

ive been after one of them webber 32/34 but am really struggling to get one
advance the timing my 1.4 was well slow till i did that just undo your dizzy slightly then start the car and twist it till the revs start going up then drive it and see if it goes better and advance it till it feels good

yhea il try that, will it tick over high then? will it damage it in anyway?
hopefully il be getting a gsi in march when ive saved some more pennies:thumb:

Wouldnt make much differance apart from it would be running uber high compression!

That was a joke, all the 8v heads look the same.
Iirc yours has the big kitted bumpers on does it not, you will probably find that they are a nice big airdam on the front and the rear is acting as a scoop and thusly slowing you down, you do sometimes find that some engines are just sh*t and others are sh*thot, the lazer blue SR that xe Dan now has had a different engine when it was local to me, had a 1300 head on it, a kent cam, weber 32/34 carb and a four branch and full system, was still slow as my old 1.2 carb raped it regularly, so his was obviously a slow on and my 1.2 was a fast one lol
