I got told that i need the mk2 cavalier 1.6 inner cv joints to go onto my nova gte drive shafts. Now my question is, what year of the mk2 do these inner cv's have to come from? Because i know parkers/uniparts are going to ask.

Ok just a lot of people assume cause the gte shafts there 22splines whereas in reality its about 30% of them that are and the rest are 28's.

Also, I am lead to believe that gsi 22spline shafts do not work, as the end of them isnt the correct size?

Just buy a set of these CLICKY (http://www.chrisastleymotorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=785) a lot easier to find. If ordering contact him by phone as he's a busy guy.

My H reg Gsi had 22 spline shafts that I used when I converted it but think it's only the crossover years that will have had them. Never found them on my J or K reg Gsi's.

Right then just got them home. I would be asking my friend that is building my Nova for me this question but he is currently in Qatar till christmas eve. What ive got is this, 22 female splines and 22 male splines?? I'll post pics if people don't get what i mean.

I've just inspected these and they are the wrong one's. The guy has sent me the outer cv's instead of the inners.
So 1.6's and the 2.0's have the same part number because they were the outers rather than the inners. Do'h !

Don't want to complicate the matter further but I found a site that did cav MK2 inner CV's fairly cheap. Although, there are two part numbers and I don't know which part number fits the GTE 22 spline shaft.

Its the gsi 22 spline shafts you want, they are the only ones that fit.
Finding the right mk2 cav inner is the hard bit, i tried..

Oh thank you mate. Looks like ive finally got the right one's then being as these are 34 male spline with 22 inner splines. I got them for £65 for the pair with trade discount. Thank you for the help.

Right i did this with mine - ring up your motor factors and say you need x2 shaftec inner cv joints part number PJ16 they need to be 22 inner splines and 34 outer spline easy peasy whats the problem lol

They are almost the same, i've heard a few late gsi ones don't fit. But i've had to pair of Gsi shafts on mine. Both i know are Gsi as i removed one set.
