how do i tighten it... its too weak even to do handbrake turns... so annoying... i need it tightened how will i go about this?

You will jack the back end up, adjust the handbrake adjuster.
If nothing happens with full adjustment the cable is probably stretched and you'll need a newun.

ahh i think i know the thingy... its like a little tube thing with a bolt head on one end and the cable goes of out of it in both directions to the rear drums?

what size nut?
looks like a 10mm ( going from memory )
is it best to ajust it with handbrake on or off?

ON, you should get 4 clicks on the handbrake.
How worn are the shoes?
11mm or 7/15ths i think (well its 7 somethings of a similar size)
and a good pair of pliers. would be a good idea to soak in wd40 before hand.

as far as i know its been on all the cars life ( G reg ) my front brakes have started sqealing too so it must have been ( 97k miles )
