Evening all, know its not a Nova but thought i'd show you what i've been up to now Nova and Corsa are finished. Planning on having this as a track car.
Having had fast FWD cars for the last ten years I decided I fancied a RWD project and have always liked the mk1 MR2's.
Bought a standard car and immediately lowered it and got rid of the nasty blue interior.

I then decided I needed to change the engine as it really isn’t quick enough but with not wanting to spend loads more on the car I decided to be different and go for a 2.0 16v swap (mk2 MR2 engine). I know its as much work nearly as the turbo engine but its still got to be better than the 1.6 16v.
I fitted some Mk3 Roadster wheels so I can also upgrade the brakes at some point. Sorry for the poor pictures.

I then set about the engine swap. Took the old engine out and cut the firewall out.

Woodsport supplied me with some mounts which were welded in position using pictures off the MR2 conversion website to judge the correct position. Got no pics of the engine bay at this point as my painting skills are terrible so decided to just throw the engine in and save myself the embarrassment.
Fitted the engine today and did a few other bits and pieces like driveshafts and a few water pipes. Pleased to say engine seems to be in the right place, not bad from a guess really. Had to remove the engine cover catch which i’m gutted about.

Next step is to fabricate the torque mounts and box the firewall in.
The wiring is going to be a disaster as the engine loom has just been hacked off the bottom of the fuse box so loads of wires on the loom and not many on the mk1 loom!!
Cheers for reading. Will get some better pictures when its not so cold and dark if anyone is interested.
