evening all just wonderd if anybody has done the above. been thinking about doing it to mine once its on the road in the few weeks hopefully basicly im needing to find out choke and jet sizes and what ever else il need to set it up and how to set it up. ive got a set of 600cc mikuni carbs lying about in the shed somewhere and there 32mm chokes i think. been told you could gain upto 20bhp power increase which is quite alot for not alot of money lol hopefully some of you guys can shed some light on this :)

iirc the 600cc bike carbs are not big enough., most people i have seen go for the r1 carbs.

there is a thread in the projects at the moment miami blue one i think.

And yes they may seem cheap until you add up the cost of inlet manifold, fuel pump/regulator, jetting the carbs, the uber rare ignition system that you see selling for about £200ish......

You need an inlet manifold, I have a few, others are available.
I know R1's work well, and they are getting cheaper.
a foot of 43/44 mm silocone hose
Megajolt ign is 100 quid plus post ready to run
Ford Edis coil pack and crank sensor, loom and trigger wheel
Or use a dizzy from H+H, costs are about the same.
Modified alternater bracket and longer belt on a v type front pulley
Thats about it, takes 2-3 days fitting/setting up
Start with 175 jets.

As per srs1, 600cc bike carbs are no were near big enough

Personally r1, cbr1100, or zzr1100 are the ones to go for!

Mainly r1, as theres loads of sets, and cheap bits/jets for them!
