How long have you been surfing the net?

I've been online since 96-7ish, very early on

I dont remember when it was - but i first started using the internet on my dads Atari 520STe using an external 14.4kbps modem connecting via British Telecom.

It was very slow, and not very useful...
I cant remember when it was - but have been between 1990 and 1992 or something like that.


On a proper PC on what you would call "proper internet" it was 1995.

there was practically nothing mate... not back on the atari - images took about 14 weeks to load (as they would on a 14k connection).

In 95 it was like a dream being able to use a 33.6 modem... and then it was like being in heaven when the 56kbps modems were launched and became the standard.

ive had pcs all my life - my dad had a 086 then a 386 and it went fron there. He had one of the first ever 'laptops' which were actually far too hevy to put on your lap :lol: .

He didn't get the internet till quite late - probably '97/'98

had a 33.5 modem now 56k modem - want broadband but aint gonna bother till I move.

My old man got one of the first pentium 90's after having a 386 and so on! I can remember it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO fast LMAO! Cost him ?4000!

i use 2 have a 1.2 modem that used with me 80806 on the BBS's

had the net since '98

had a 28, then a 56 now broadband!! WOHOO

had pc's and computers all me life 2, b4 pc's had c64, atari st, amiga, then the pc's

got 3 pc's in me dads room, play games against m8's in stuff and a pc in me sisters room for her college work.

got a router so all 4 can go on the net at the same time and a hub 2 :wink: :D 8)
