Yeah buckets in a 1.0, stripping and putting lighter weight parts is the most efficient way of making a smaller powered car go faster ;)

It won't be driven as a 1.0

Nice find mate, tidy Nova. Good thing she is solid as it will be a good basis for the XE. What over plans you got for it?

Nice choice of parts, wheels should look nice on them and a snowplough or an Irmsher front valance would go very well with that bumper and grille.

:thumb:

Oh and refurbing them wheels with Nitromoors is a nightmare. I gave up after one wheel. Sand blast FTW

Cheers mate :thumb: Yeah one wheel has taken me ages and ive left the rest for like 2 weeks now lol Doesn't sand blast put pits in the alloy though?

Have heard it before but duno if it's true or not, haven't actually blasted mine yet. Either way though I saves a heck of a lot of time.

Do that then mate, you'll probably end up going through a few cans of Nitromoors, lots and lots of wet n dry and a few wire drill bits/wire wool.

Its all a bit scattered at the min mate, the engine is round my girlfriends. Mounts, fuel pump etc is round my mates. Parts in my room and other parts under the car port :tard: lol

It will all come together at the beginning of the month

Shell looks really good matey - I will get looking for that throttle cable when the snow clears!;)

That looks just like mine did when i got it - nice little car.

I would imagine you'll be changing those tyres tho - 195/50 will most likely rub like hell, 195/45s is what you need.

Yeah it had been stood for 6months or more, there's a little dent on the offside rear quarter that wasn't stated in the advert but apart from that i was really pleased for £245 ...... which the girlfriend paid :)

Also updated previous post with more parts pictures.

This project is slowly moving along, i've just been doing little bits and bob's to tidy her up and get the niggly bits out the way with.

I've also gave up on the cav fan blades i had - too much hassle and too much oxidation to tackle with so im just sourcing out some more wheels.

Tony M

Got the engine out the other day and just started stripping cable's etc out the way ready to be prepared for welding.

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii195/Daywalker84/Picture001-1.jpg

Found a bit more rust

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii195/Daywalker84/Picture003-1.jpg

With a couple of hours each night this week im going to get the engine bay ready for welding, then get it welded over the weekend hopefully ready for the engine to go in :)

I've just bought some Jenolite gel to see if that will help. I don't really wanna go all out on this car to be honest.

Looking lovely pal, the 1 piece bumper looks mint painted. You don'T see many of them painted in black but they do look better than what many would imagine. I took a risk painting mine black and imo it's paid off (although mines a tad glossier :) )

Tony M
04-07-10, 05:36 AM
When i bought the bumper it was originally in white so i didnt have much choice with spraying it. I bought the Spax kit off KSRY yesterday, the car sitting alot better now. I will get a picture later today.
