Transducer Help for Digi Dash

Hi,

I have a 8v digi dash with alll the loom but no transducer.
I rang Vauxhall to buy one but there is 3?

1) ?34 - 16 Impulse
2) ?57 - 16 Impulse
3) ?76 - 8 Impulse

Now guessing i would say the 8 impulse but its very expensive!!!!

But can I get away with any if it being fitted into a Nova?????? :twisted:

YOU WONT BE BUYIN FROM VAUX!! No point mate! You can a whole MINT digidash and trans for ?50 inc delivery normally! Look in the for same section or visit some scrappies and pray!

ok heres what u do

goto your local scrappy

find a 1.2 SPi nova

rip the gearbox sender off keeping some wiring loom

pay a few quid for it or put it in your pocket

attach it to your gearbox and wire in like normal

and if everything works u'll have a working dash - mite need to flick that wee switch on the top

you need a 1.2i - meaning INJECTION sensor

between the mechanical drive and the gearbox on the single point injection (SPI) novas, there is a similar transducer

it only works with 8v digidashes though.

just go to your local breakers, find a mk2 1.2i or 1.4i and whup the sender off the box

if u send me "good money" i'll do the same ;) but thats totally pointless as u can just goto a breakers yourself

unless,, u have a 1.2i nova? in which case u already have the sender :D

Sender, isnt it connected to the gearbox as I need to know what im asking for off the 1.2i, 1.4i as I have a GSi and really as you can tell am quite clueless about these things??

So what should I ask for, off the gearbox?? to make my 8v digi dash work??

if its the multec GSi u already have it

if its a bosch GSi u dont

have a look and see

How do I tell?? Where do I look and if it is multec how do I rig up the digi dash???? I have a wiring guide for the Astra GTE transducer is it the same????

Its a K plate GSi if that helps????/

ok the multec GSi has no AFM

if u look under the bonnet u see the air pelnum at the back of the einge with the black air pipe coming off

this should go streight to the airfilter if uve got a multec car

if its a bosch car it will goto a silver "bosch" box which the airfilter is attached to

got a photo of the engine bay?

the air filter is a black box with GM on it if that helps??

Ive just got another digidash (one that works with loom for ?5 from scrappy today) its a 16v one but I have a Nova 1.2i Luxe Plus, I have the 3 cables coming off the transducer currently there, Ive hooked the wire up to the dash and it works fine, just doesnt read the right speed, its way too low less than half as fast.

Is there a switch on my dash that would sort this?

If not I do have the Astra GTE transducer but how do I get my one off its soo hard to get too.

try flicking the red switch on the top of the digi dash - usually sorts it

naa it wont

u have a 6 impulse sender (SPi) which will only run an 8v digidash

the 16v dashes use 16 impulse senders - so u need to get one :(
