both the same, some solid and some rotted
all crap
Best answer so far.
XR2i's rust as bad as Nova's. Yet Astra's rust as bad as Escorts.

Different age ranges rust different as we know, but i would say the worst Fords are mk3 fiesta, mk5 Escorts and mk1 mondeo's
Worst Vauxhall's are mk2 Astra (late) mk2 Nova's (mainly GSi's in silk violet it seams) lol And early mk3 Astra's.

Have visited both sides of this corroded fence and would say historically ford slightly worse. They have had a tendency to use slightly thinner guage metal in some areas but make it higher strength to compensate. Vaux started to use plastic underwing guards earlier, thus more protection to (some) wheelarches.
If they had done it on the rears as well there would be a lot more Vaux on the road now.
Ive always found its suspension pick up points the drop out on GM's whereas on Fords it always round the fuel caps & under any plastic trims.

in the blue corner FORD = rotten bodies & vvanky mechanicals.
in the red corner Vauxhall = rotten bodies & solid mechanicals.
Vauxhall are the winner on points.
Except when Vauxhall made the ludicrous assumption they could make a reliable 4WD system. lol

I'd say Ford from my comparisosn with my cousin and his family as they are all ford nuts, and my famliy who are Vauxhall nuts. Their shizzle is rustier then ours lol
I vote Nissan
lol Nippon built S14 200sx experience perchance matey? lol
British built Nissan stuff is very good. God knows what steel the Japs use(d). lol
L33, Ka's are from the 90's lol. 1996 to be precise. The gheyhat two tone last of the line ones were no improvement on the early ones. You're right, they rot like a good un!
Focus' are fine though, bit on the arches, door bottoms, tailgate, but these cars are over 10 years old now.
I've seen plenty hanging late Corsa B's and mk3/4 Astra's too.
Ford have improved in every aspect. 'They' say the current Astra still isn't even up to the handling standards of the original Focus.
Blue oval. WIN. lol
Ive seen rusty 53 reg Mondeo's on my travels lol but also Ive seen a bubbly wheel arch on a 54 reg Meriva.
