d.i.y adjustable tie rods?

i have some tie rods lying about. was thinking of cutting them up drilling and tapping them and fitting some threaded bar to them to be able to make the longer/shorter. im guessing the std wishbone and bush is going to restrict the movement more so than anything else as the tierods would still mount to the wishbone the same way. but would it give me enough movement to get that little extra bit of caster? anyone tried anything like this before? cheers!

It's been done. I personally would have concerns about material strength & weld penetration etc. However assuming its carried out to a decent standard I'm sure its do-able. Having rosejointed TCA's would be better than bushed ones.

ya i have been looking into rose jointing the tca's going to get hold of a spare set and see what i can knock up!
