Does a F28 box marry up with a 2.0i 16v from an Astra mark2? :|

because of the extra weight, and the cost of converting it aint really worth it
there are kits on the market to change them into front wheel drive only, but its a lot of graft and also an engine mount has to be changed IIRC
Changing engine mounts and stuff is easy. Kit costs ?120 from PVD and is easy to fit. weight on the other hand is a major concern. I'm getting about 5k from a set of front shocks.

If you do alot of M-way miles a 6-speed is worth it, but if you don't do many miles, why bother?

Fitting a F28 on a normal C20xe aint worth it, it will loose you performance and gain you nowt as the xe will not pull 6th gear that well and it costs far more than ?120 for the mounting kit trust me. Rick
lol^^^ yup the f28 kit is more like ?320 m8 as rick says!
Pointless swap. the box was made to keep the LET engine off-boost on the motorways, nothing else. It is stronger as well but that's for the turbos power. Without the Turbo it does nothing for you

dont bother, not really worth all the hassle, i looked into it a while back.
If all else fails why not look into experimenting with the ratios that you already have, i mate did this with a 1200 nova and in would out pace any other 1200 nova around and it had no engine mods aswell!
the convertion part of it is not really that hard, without going too much in to it; the transfer box comes off the F28 and the flange from an F20 on the driners side (where the shaft goes in) is machined down to fit into the F28 and thus can take the drivers side shaft.
But in a Nova its not worth it. its a damn heavy box.
everything about the f28 and all other gearbox info, as well as changing from a 5 speed to a 6 speed, is in the latest edition of TV!
but it doesnt say anything about putting a f10 5 speed into a 1.2 nova!
doh!
Cool, don't think i'll bother with it then, the front ends heavy as fcuk already.
I quite enjoy the straight cut whine of my F20 anyway.

i want to put in a f10 5-speed in the 1.2! but i need to sort the gte out first!
