1st "proper" mod was simply adding a set of 14" GSi alloys (bought for ?80) and a garish flourescent green strip sticker on both bumpers and down the side :x

And the following month as I was tidying up the bodywork (touch up paint on a few scratches) lost the plot and in a week completely resprayed whole car with cans including bumpers!

:o

Have to say it looked mint after it was polished and lasted for 3 HARD years worth of motorway driving (average 120miles a day for 8 months!)
no lacquer or owt!

But the stone chips took their toll - hense rebuild last July

Biggest mod disaster - prob the garish sticky bumper strips! Several disasters during rebuild last year - not major ones though - more stumbling into stuff that hindered me more than anything else (rusted bolts on suspension, rusted arches etc etc)

first mod I did was to replace all the rusty bits of chrome on my old orange beetle with nice shiny bits of chrome, oh and for shows I had some hub caps that were orange and fuzzy and had smiley faces on!!!!<-- I know it was a mistake, but I was young, it was my first car and there were loads of beetles with crazy paintjobs and fluffy bits!!!! :) that was all in 96/97, can't remember exactly!!!

my first mod was back in "98 on my first Nova. a GTE which i owned for 4 months before we flared out all the arches, fitted 17's, smoothed bumpers, delocked, and full respray! My modding history got off to a good start :o

Jim

My first mod was either a K&N Air filter or some 15"smith multispoke Alloys, can't remember which one i did first.

My first ever car modification was putting some pepperpots onto a Mk2 Fiesta. That was back in 1995. Saying that, 1995 doesn't sound all that long ago.

LOL @ how young most of the members are these days, or is it just that I'm an old man? Hmmm, maybe I should trade the Nova in for a more reliable, sophisticated, comfortable, luxurious car...
