As per title, doing my engine bay tonight and tommorow night, do I seam it, or stitch it?

1" on 1" off?

2" on 1" off?

ETC!

Help appreciated:thumb:

i seemed around the turrets and down the bulkhead but stiched along the length of the chassis leg. the idea behind stiching instead of seeming is to retain a crumple zone.

Stitch it, not seam - mine is probably inch every 2 or about that but obviously you'll play with more/less than that around the panel seams/mounts etc.

Everyone seems to do it different. I did mine (or rather my mate did!) inch weld, gap, weld, gap etc.

Right, Had a go last night, didn't even bother using my poo welder, so just stripped it back to bear metal!

Will continue tonight, then my dads going to lend me his Industrial Trades Mig from when he had his unit, only thing is £140 a bottle for the gas! :(

It's a huge bottle, (dad tells my mum it's £140, I think he buys other bike bits with the change)

it's argon-shield!

Just been welding on some plates etc! I've remembered how to do it! Lol

just got hours of seams to clean, then sort the welding out in the Xmas break:)

happy:):)

£140? hahaha my bodyshop by a 25kg (empty) bottle costs 40. Your getting ripped off.

From what you said as the cars just gonna be a Sunday driven car, it wont matter.
