bought this turbo for my conversion, however this is the first time ive used a turbo and im just wondering what the hole is next the the exhaust outlet, its direct from the manifold, im using an external waste gate with this as it has no actuator.

It might not have an actuator, but it is internally 'gated.

so does that mean i need a external waste gate?

no mate, if ur turbo uses an internal wastegate, you dont need an external one.

ok brill, another one for you, normally when installing a manual boost controller you'd pipe it between the actuator or wastegate, how do i go about that now then?

I wish I still worked for Garrett (Honeywell engine boosting systems). I could get all drawings and parts info on pdf within seconds on the Intranet. I could have walked up a flight of stairs and had a discussion with an aerodynamics phd graduate and answered your question within minutes. Unfortuntately, I don't know anyone in romania or new mexico. (Where they moved my assembly lines to)
