I have lowered the back of my gte with gabriel red ryders and -60 mm Pi springs
when i came to do the front i fitted bilstein shocks and -60 mm springs, as soon as i took it for a test run I felt some nasty banging noises and grinding on turning on full lock
I took it to a garage and they said it was bottoming !!
So i ordered some new springs which were suppose to be -35 and they did exactly the same thing [bottoming], though the only noticeable difference was a the height of the arches in realtion to the wheels
any ideas ?
wrong springs ?
what wheels are you running???????????????????
if your offset isn't et49, and the tyres are wider than 175, you will be catching the rear arches, uinless you have ground them off a bit...
Have you had the front re-aligned each time
How many miles has it done, the suspension bushes could be Knacked
Do you have mudflaps fitted, they could be catching

the back are fine
as i am currently running the car on standard front suspension
I am having really bad problems on the fornt
i am taking 160 pounds worth of gear back to tuning.co.uk cos they cannot provide me with a decent front suspension
so all i want to do now is lower the fton 30 mm or sommit
tyres r 185/65/14
when i took it to a garage they could c there was nothing left in the springs in terms of flexibility and when you put prtessure on the front wings [ie sit on em] you could hear a thump like knock as if you were hitting the bottom
sounds like they are very weak springs

the problem is the front as i have said 2x already
i have tried using 2 types of springs on bilstein oe replacements
both springs do not seem to work properly with both sets bottoming
just want to know if any1 has had these problems or if any1 has a nova gte / gsi and can recommend -30 - 40 lowering springs
