Your getting stressed over 2 weeks, try 12 months!

Have been thinking about it and talking to my mate after i spoke to you last and it does sound strange. Especially that it will go woth the sucton but not without, it does make it sound like you need the boost of fuel.

I think for the cost of a fule pump its worth trying the GSi one, you can get them for ?10

(for others sake he is running a sports pump not a GSi pump & lines)

I had a similar problem. I suggest you work thru the obvious. You say you have had it started and you say that you continue to have a spark?
If you have had it running then the fundamentals have been OK so you can initially ignore major internal problems.
This points to something like one of the sensors, or wiring or fuses?
With me the crank sensor was the problem. You have basically got to go round all your sensors and wiring carefully. Concentrate particularly where you have changed things. Whilst you are at it make sure you have fuel - is the filter blocked - does the fuel pump run - have you got enough fuel in the tank etc? Sounds silly but its ever so easy to over look simple solutions

Thank for all your replies........I just had me dads mate look at it (mechanic) at straight away he said that is is being starved of fuel cause you have to really choke the engine to get it to run....he said that my competetion fuel pump is bubbered (as ben said  ).....what shall i buy a new fuel pump???

get a bosch injection fuel pump from a scrapper. the last one I bought came out of a manta gte. The astra, cav. nova, probably all gm inj cars have the bosch pump fitted. What make of competition pump is it?

The first time I stuck a efi lump into a non efi car, I got caught out with trying to fit a performance fuel pump. they are usually fine for carbs, but not for injection.

will the boasch fuel pump work ok with my 1.2 lines and tank or do i need ones from a GTE?

Right the best thing to do is email Colin Smith as he will sell you the GSi tank/Lines/Pump all as one package as there is no point trying to ram loads of fuel down your 1.2 lines.

try him on... colin.smith@liverpool-victoria.co.uk I know he is breaking about 3 GSi's at the moment, he will also ship them to you.

Cool......i have ordered fuel pump and tank from a GSI and all brackets and fixings etc..

My 1.2 has got solid lines anyway so i was told they will be fine for the fuel pressure needed.

The thing about std lines is that although they will be upto the pressure they tend to be short on capacity. Best to try and get 6mm I/D or bigger if you can cos you want to be sure that there is enough fuel being delivered - injection motors need plenty of fuel circulating round

CP your now up to 1000 Posts

my lines look exactly the same as the GTE ones though.

One black and one brown about 5-6mm diameter

gte will have METAL solid lines under the car

1.2i lines are fine.... rob smith runs a 500bhp escort cossie fse pump @ 4 bar on 1.2i lines
