View Full Version : Spraying wings - question
hi guys.
Im wanted to get my front wings painted.
Ive had various quotes from 11 diffrent places from £175 to £250.
Thats seem really steep to me?
my question is a mate of mine has an airbrush kit what sort of finish could I get using this?
thanks
When I was asking around for a new pattern wing to be sprayed white it averaged about £100 - that's for one wing.
I ended up paying £70 for 2 wings to be sprayed, not very good quality and they didn't look nice for long.

I payed £50 for 2 to be done, but I provided the paint!
Ive also payed £100 for brand new wings, they primed painted etc!
I think £275 is rediculous!
£120 would be a normal walk in price. Doing it with an air brush kit would take along long time.
I've paid £50 for 2 Nova wings and a door. Hmmm. 'good' finish. lol
I painted my bootlid with Halfords mix paint (NOT the off the shelf cans). Finish was actually really good considering, but I did have a garage and put in the time and effort on it.

The off the shelf stuff seems a tad yellower!
Well it does for me lol
Also, How much is it from halfrauds??????
I think it cost me about £10 for them to make up a spray? I used 2.5 cans, plus a large off the shelf primer.
They stuff they mix up can either be analyzed with a sample and matched, or just matched from their own charts - the match they did for me (from the charts) was pretty much spot on.
Plus one for halfords mixed stuff, You cant get miami blue off the shelf, and the arden blue they got me matched it perfect.
IIRC its about £11.
The nozzle is better too, not a dot like the off the shelf stuff.
