to explain exactly what it failed on?
offside/nearside rear (sill and wing) suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
offside rear (inner wing) suspension spring mounting presribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
Yeah mine failed on this, basically, there is some **** off holes around the strut tops, look at your strut tops, and all around them even under the lip of the wing under the bonnet next to the strut tops.

Mines on the rear, as i did the fronts already, so its around the rear struts then? the fronts failed on what i already figured to be the jacking points
cheers Jordy, yep, its gone right at the back, you know the 5cm part that just collects crap by the rear arch/wing
behind the shock? will just go have a look there!

just checked it out, who would have known lol indeed behind the shock, right on the bottom of the shell, looks like the tester took a hammer to it the way the metals now all bent outwards with what must be about 1CM missing where it rusted, i know he struggled to get it tested due to it being so low, but thats abit harsh lol
have some rep
As jordy said hes went there easier if its behind the shock imo to remove the shock usualy cleans up quitew well so a nice weld can be acheived :D

Sill and quarter rusty by rear beam mounting
offside rear (inner wing) suspension spring mounting presribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
spring cup on the chassis rail i'd say.
dodgy MOTs ftw! lmao
ive always thought at my work oh the odd dodgy thing missed on the mot wont hurt, but then a random spot check from VOSA put my mind where it should be lol luckily all 4 cars we had mot'd were all legit they new what cars we had done what time we had started the test what the failed on etc etc from a guy sitting in his car round the corner!!
didnt the tester show you what was needed?
if not can't you go back and ask to be shown where
the tester wants it welding?
i'm a mot tester and if one fails i allways show the owner
around the car and what it needs to pass
and if it needs any welding i mark it with a yellow tyre chalk
i'd go back mate and ask!

the problem being, i had to leave it there overnight, it was booked in for 10:15, but it was too low to get in the building lol it wasn't done by the time i was due in work at 1:30PM, he usually chalks it, but didn't see any.
but i figured it must be at the bottom of the rear arch just in front of the wheels, you know where all the crap collects? and behind the rear shock, where he's obviously put it through lol
just didn't know what part it was specifying, the way it was worded made me think it was something on the rear beam, the rest of the fail i know what it is
