just bought myself a new toy
a 1990 1.4SR in white
wondered if anyone has known the car in the past
H94NNP

goes well has got piper cams in.....but would go better when we can sort the timing out!!
look forward to spending time here on the forum

My old car, only had it for a little while, brought it with a blown head gasket had a spare head with performance cam in so put that on, didn't have time to time it all up, i also put the wheels on with oversized tyres at the front and also the white wing mirrors on, does it still have the piece of bump trim missing on the rear qauter panel. Also had a stealth shelf too. I sold it to someone in salisbury. That was about 2 years ago i had it.

My mate had it before me, so i know about a years worth. I do have a pic or two i might be able to dig out.

The story of when we got it is the best. Took my mate up to get it from fiat dealership can't remember (birmingham mabey), where on the back of my bike sv650 in the pouring rain, got about a qauter of the way and my bike started to run on one cylinder o dear, so turned back going about 50mph on the m4 had to use the hard shoulder a few times. Got back soaking wet bombed it back up there in my nova. Got the car to find that some plank had sprayed the whole engine bay with some kind of laquer.

Anyway on to the car, my mate did run it off the road and over the worst placed boulder in history, all it did was dent the sump and the front valance i belive, there is also a crease in wing on the wheel arch due to this, so we replaced the sump straight away. So if you take the bumper off you will probably find the dents, most probably why the bumpers have been reprayed black, they were grey when i had it. The wheels come from nobbyznova on here. They where black when i got them, also not sure what suspension is on it now, but when i had it, it had brand new p.i suspension that i fitted for him.

The head came from a rally engine that i had at the time, does it still have the rust on the rear bottom of the doors?

still has the suspension on just didnt know what make! as the stickers have long gone!
the bumpers were still gray when i got it...amazing what liquid black polish can do...old valeting trick...

did you put in the wiring in for amps & subs etc???

Great at least he took care of her. No only the hidden 6x9s were in it when i had it, no other wiring. I do have some pics on facebook but my work computer wont allow me to access them so ill upload them when i can.

It has been on a fair few journeys down to the coast and has not ever failed, only when i brought her the head gasket went between 3 and 4. the only thing i never liked on it was the white decal on the sun roof.

On those wheels i found out that if you put some 10mm spacers on the front you can fit bigger brakes under them 2l 16v ones so you can actually stop.

but if there was one thing that i wish i did, it would have been to refurb those wheels back to original. I love sr's with the origianal pearly alloy colour. this is one car i wichi kept. Hope you have fun with her.

O yeah when i had it it only just had brand new brake discs and pads put on.

Had a standard set of sr alloys given to me the other week.
gonna get the winter out of the way with the black alloys on
yeah must admit iam not a lover of the sunroof...
think i will get it put back to an all metal roof.
yeah it does get a bit hairy when you wanna stop quick....but then again iam used to fancy new cars and their fancy braking systems lol

if its still got the standard pulley on the crank and cam then just align the marks up and you should be sorted and get a timing light to check the dizzy timing is fine also
