I have a 2.0i 16v Astra GTE engine in a 1.0trip shell.
I have been told that you cannot get an anti roll bar to fit the front of my car because the sump and manifold gets in the way. Surely this is not true.
Does anyone know otherwise?
If so where can i get one? :|

um, i think u need to lower the tiebars first then the standard ARB will fit

it might also depend which exhaust manifold your using

iirc the astra one gets in the way, the cavvy one doesnt

cant remember exactly tho

I do!!!!!!

have a look at the sticky message in tech forum

theres big debate whether the GM stuff stiffens the car far to much, and whether it is better to leave it all off to induce body roll, to stop jittering and sliding behaviour

you dont need it, but if you really want one:
it doesn't foul the sump, just the manifold. you can either cut into the manifold&re-weld it so that the bar fits, or as aragorn said lower the tie-bars.
both options would allow use of the std gm roll bar.
but i dont use one and its fine.

If you have uprated suspension you dont need one - it'll just make it understeer more. Its a poor design.

and as described if you go to the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum, look at the bottom of that page for the 'great antiroll bar debate', read it in full as alot of people added their own views to help you make your mind up
