Problems again :(

Just put two new pistons and a set of rings in the nova, just got it running for around 1 1/2 to 2 minutes and it snapped a cam finger that comes off the lifter onto the valve, Anybody have any experience of this happening? what could cause it?

piston contact? as a precaution I'd take the head off and see whats lurking in there. I broke a valve guide when I did mine and the bits of guide caused right mess.

I might try one more finger bit before i take the head off just to make sure it wasnt weak anyway, I switched it off straight away and I doubt it was piston contact because I turned the engine over by hand before I ran it to make sure it didnt lock up. This nova is getting expensive :(

it probably got damaged when you timed the engine up , or when the pistons knackered up.......

I've got it all apart again and i think it has just failed due to wear. Its snapped the small end of the finger clean off. I'm going to try a new so hopefully it wont happen again.
