why not link it back to a switch on the dash board like im doing at the moment.

Much easier option than a quick fix thing.

if your going to fit a switch use a relay

uses quite a bit of current that will burn a switch out after time

Replace the water temperature switch, in the rad, then it will come on when it's hot.

The temp switch (the thing which switches the fan on when the water reaches a ceratin temp), is located on the LHS of the rad if you looking at the car fom the front.

Just unscrews out...

depends who you talk to, What I call a Temp switch screws into the Rad, it's Brass and you'll need somethin like a 24mm Spanner to remove it.

it also has two spade connectors on it, it doesn't matter which way round you connect these. The Sensors are under ?10 and you'll have to drain the cooling system to fit them - 10 minute job.

Make sure you buy a new seal for it if you remove it as water will leak if the old one is knackered after you remove it!

Also worth a try is to pull off the connector and replace it a few times to get rid of any corrosion that could be breaking circuit.

vinegar (being an acid) what u have on your fish and chips. is great at cleaning corrosion on contacts...........
