thats the one but without sounding like a cheap skate my mate doesnt want to pay that much! his car is having a few problems that we think was either crank sensor or AFM. Replaced the AFM and still not starting so its looking like the sensor.

Have you not flashed the fault codes up. Surely that will tell you.

nah we wiggled the crank sensor wire and it fired up then cut out again and his wire looks worse for wear

because we only found the crank sensor fault afterwards....and i needed one for my car anyway ;-)

thanks for the concern anyway. im a right novice with engines at the minute but i noticed when he revved it it cut out so i guessed at the AFM but then one day the car wouldnt start at all and didnt even spark so looked in to the crank sensor option. found the dodgy wire and it fired. Cant really tape up such an important wire so best to get another one.

car will start without the AFM connected
it'll just run like a bag of crap!

yes, but its a way to see if the AFM is broke
