Here it is! My 1196cc, 5 speed, MK 1 Vauxhall Nova Diamond with 96,100 genuine miles on the clock and a 12 month MOT.
I am selling the car because I decided to travel Europe and needed a bigger car for the job. So I bought a MK 2 Golf with the idea that I would sell the Golf when I got back. After traveling round Europe in the Golf I realized I couldn’t get rid of it so, after two well served years the Nova has to go.
I bought the Nova in 2007 with 10 months MOT on it. When it came to its MOT on 2008 the Nova clearly had a dodgy MOT before I bought it as it failed and had 2 pages of failure sheets. Being a mechanic myself I decided to fix the Nova as it was my second MK 1 Nova and I love them too much to see them scrapped.
Including the MOT failure I have spend a lot of money on the Nova and the list of what I have done to it is as follows.
12 hours of welding for the MOT 2008. Including battery tray, rear spring mounts, a new nearside seal, offside rear of floor, offside rear inner arch, nearside front inner arch, offside front inner arch, nearside seatbelt anchorage and a few more classic Nova points. Example:Where the slam panel meets the inner wing.
New rear wheels bearings. (Both Sides)
New Ferodo brake shoes including spring kits for the shoes.
New Front discs and Apec pads.
New sliders on the nearside front brake caliper.
New brake hoses. (Both front hoses)
New nearside C.V. Boot.
New genuine crankshaft oil seal.
New alternator belt.
New thermostat.
New offside headlight unit.
New front suspension top mounts.
New exhaust back box.
New gates Cambelt.(96,000)
New waterpump.
New camshaft oil seal.
New distributor. (due to the vacuum advance not working)
New distributor cap.
New rotor arm.
New Bosch H.T. leads.
New intermotor oil pressure switch.
New coolant in the system.
New valve stem seals.
New head gasket. (due to it having an oil leak)
New Pioneer front 10cm speakers.
Newly refurbished Nova SR alloy wheels with all good tyres. (on the car already)
I have also just serviced the car so it has had new spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and oil.
The Nova has been rewired so it is ISO so any head unit can go straight in. As well as cables run through the car for rear speakers.
The Nova has electric windows and a sunroof.
The Nova is also lowered on G-Max 40mm springs all round
On top of all of this the Nova comes with Nova SR seats in the car already, a black Nova SR/GTE front bumper, a black Nova SR grill, Nova SR Speedo clocks, Nova GTE steering wheel, Nova SR/GTE boot spoiler, 2 spare SR alloy wheels and a un used, from factory Nova SR steel wheel as the spare.
The Nova has a service history in the original Vauxhall Nova Service booklet but only has the service history from 1990, 1991, 1998, 1999. 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
I also have the original Nova maintenance book.
Comes with Haynes manual.
Two keys. (One original, other a copy)

I have past MOT’s but only from 2006.
As the car is 20 years old there are a few bad bits. The classic Vauxhall Nova rear arches. They are ok. No holes in them just need some attention before they get worse. The rear washer jet doesn’t work due to a spilt in the pipe, but the rear wiper still works.
There is also scuffs on the top of the offside wing and bottom of the offside wing. BUT…..I have a new wing already sprayed the same colour just needs putting on the car. (If you need me to do this I can, they’re only bolt on)
The Nova has no TAX. (£67.50 for 6 months I believe)
This car has had sooo much love put into it. Shame to see it go but need more room on the driveway.
