right i had a blow out today, my front tyres.

The wear on them is the inside half of the tyres totally gone and the outside still tread.

Just wandering if the tracking will sort this or is the wear pattern the camber?

If so whats peoples opinions on the camber bolts and i know there isnt any adjustment on the nova

Camber as yours is lowerd too much. Camber bolts will prob do it. Oh and have you had the tracking done since lowering?

Do both.

ive not had the tracking done yet :(

im going to get some tyres fitted and tracking done before the weekend hopefully.

Then buy some camber bolts then get the tracking done again.

No where can 4 wheel alighn the car as its to low

Tracking will be miles out due to the lowering.

self steering (unless you are on about tramlining on major roads) is mostly down to toe (tracking).

Find an old skool place with the dunlop mirror setup ;)

the wear will be a mix of toe and camber

yea id get the tracking done first and see how it goes then look at adjusting the camber

Just tracking it will not stop wear from happening on the insade edge of the tyre. I had 4 wheel allignment done after I got it lowered and new track rod ends put on. The outer half of my tyre is worn about 25% the inside about 60% coz I didnt fit camber adjustment bolts (lowered 30mm-35mm).

So do both and it will be much better. 2 for £20 is cheap tbh what brand are they? any links? Cheapest I have see are £37 - £40 for H&R / Eibach ones. Chamber bolts normally adjust upto +/- 3 degrees IIRC (the ones I have come across)

nova tek there from lmf and are on ebay

they adjust 1.75 deg going to have to have a look at hh ms and get the 3 deg ones :)

well the tracking is being done at 3. They cant 4 wheel align it cause its to low at the back with 15's on as the top of the alloy are tucked up in the arch.

Cool thanks GSi Jimbo. Probably why they are a bit cheaper as they don't give as much adjustment as the other ones I have seen, but still good price.

Kwik fit couldn't do any tracking at all as the car was 'too low'. In the end took it to another place and they managed to do it. Shame I didnt come across the camber adjustment bolts then as I would have got them to do the whole lot at once and save me some tyres at the same time.

[EDIT] Just took a look at the link (thanks Southie) they are Eibach items aswell

Would 1.75 deg be enough adjustment for the Nova lowered 35mm?

You would prob find 1.75 is too much, trail and error, or sit crunching numbers lol

if only back in the day i knew about camber bolts and those top strut mount things lol i could of saved a small fortune in buying low pro tyres.

or the novaload camber mod of redrilling the top mount holes outwards for ever 10mm of lowering.

Well if it needs no more than 1.75 deg adjustment for 35mm lowering then I'll go for those then. Half price ain't too bad.

Have been thinking about the Novaload technique but I'd rather have the bolts. Holes in the chassis just mean more chance of rust lol

The hole enlarging isnt a bad idea, been done on my mates car without probs, Best way is to weld a couple of washers on in the correct place.

in chapter 13 of the haynes book, it actually shows you how to file the existing holes to make camber adjustments

Nova_Tek

Yeah I remember reading that, but think I'll stick to the bolts.

the camber bolts can also slip just as easily as a slotted hole. one good whack on a kerb is all it needs

So theres nothing to lose then ;) :d
