Probably a stupid idea but I don't suppose the waterways and head bolt patterns on the small block 8v and 16v blocks are the same are they? Just wondering if a 1.4 block could be modified for use as a 16xe allowing the use of the nice small featherweight 1.4 flywheel, before i scrap the block lol

exactly the same. tis all interchangable.

if all you want is the flywheel why not just swap that? you dont need to change cranks or owt

Because the smaller flywheel doesn't reach the starter motor on the 16v block lol

I tried that already!

Guess i'll hold onto the block for now then...... a plan is forming :d if she lets me lol

hmmm thats odd. mind you im going off my experience of the 1.6 blocks. purhaps you need a 1.4 starter then

Or find a 16v flat flywheel, my little 1.4 16v has one, standard.
