View Full Version : Lowering 60mm
Right, jus a quick question. I was just wondering, with lowering a mk1 Nova 1.4Sr (don't know if its different for other types of novas), will you need to get shortened shocks as well as shortened springs. As my mates springs fell out when his car was jacked up. His is a mk2 merit i think.
sr's suspension is lower than standard lower model novas (merit etc) (I think).
Its always best to get a set of springs and shocks that match - that way you will have superior handling, not wear out the shock due to ineffective springs (too small) and they wont fall out - which means it will fail an MOT (unless you strap them down) - your car will also look "proper"
Supernovas.uk.com are doing a set of GMAX supersport springs n dampers + bolts etc for ?195 - v good deal.

the springs falling out aint a particular problem, it can be remedied by using tie wraps to hold them in, its sufficient enough and will pass an MOT.
shrotened shocks are better though
and that supernovas deal is a minter.
itll handle a lot better and corener a lot better if u get a full kit...........
I'm on a budget, a tight budget. Would you think simply cable-tying them would be ok for a while?
