Bought that engine off cranny the other day, isnt a C16SE its an X16SZ, i can still use the GTE top end so it makes no difference to me.

As for that nova, i would keep the badges on it, you dont see many novas with the badges on.

I love it.

Except (and these are a matter of oppinion and it's your car so you can do what you like)

1) With 15 inch alloys you need bigger brakes. Which should be a yellow nickel plated colour for that standard look. In my oppinion red brake calipers are over done.
2) The Renault bit of plastic on the front spoiler ? Overdone and looks dated.
3) i and Irmscher Badges ? Erm naff I Think. Unless it's on a CALIBRE (note the E)
4) The rear speakers ? Too in your face.
5) Chrome washer jets ? Please no.
6) The scuffed bumper , and badly fitting front grill ? Sort it mate !!!
7) Vauxhall Badge on Bonnet and Nova Badge ? Keep them.
8) Don't ruin it with a single wiper conversion.

In summary, a decent car, at least you avoided bad boy bonnets, balck windows, and an air intake on the front wing.

As an old fart I reserve the right to remind you youngsters that LESS is more and You've pretty much reached the visual limit for me. Next on the agenda should be more power and decent suspension (if you've not already got it)

Oh and sack the gardener as he failed to weed the stones on the drive.

Just a question? Handling and Roadholding and Comfort are always going to be a compromise especially on 'well maintained' British Roads. There must be a point where low is too low, hard is too hard, wide is too wide, resulting in Bump steer, tramlining, and the need for a back specialist after all but the shortest journeys.
Most people who modify cars tend to go a bit too far, and the result is something that is actually worse than the best the manufacturer came up with. Would brand new GSI suspension and 195/50/15 be the best compromise for a nova on British B roads ?

i had the front of my nova dropped about 70-80mm with the xe in on spax rsx, 60 rear and caused no end of problems. ripped the splitter off, ripped the bumper off, flexi off the exhaust, snapped my sbd manifold, snapped a 3 week old bottom balljoint and popped a seal in one of my coilovers (all on seperate occasions, not bad for a car i only ran for just over 2 months) but it looked feckin cool and handled like it was on rails. if i didnt nail it over jumps it wouldn't have been too bad but i have learned from this, will be raising the front a little when the LET is in, and less airborne antics lol

I dont know what engine to use, id like to use a LET but i just cant see it happening, although i did once hear of a iirc 900hp let.

and id rather not modify the shape of the shell in any way because it would be cheating.

You think if i removed the windscreen and rear window it would have less drag and go 200mph ? have to wear a helmet though lol
