Will I be able to use my 1.0 carb loom with my 1.3 engine ?

Or will I need a 1.3 loom for it ?

Cheers, Vaughan

Personally, If you're going to bare shell it, i'd fit a 1.3 loom. The 1.0 can be adapted though. All the connections are on a multiplug at the top of the bulkhead on the 1.0. will involve some re-wiring. (the 1.0 has a lesser voltage feed to the coil too, if you keep the 1.0 loom you'll have to run another 12v feed to the coil.)

Ahh right - I'll look into it when it comes time to put the engine in

Just something I'd wondered :)

My red nova was a 1.0 and I fitted a 1300 engine, just made one or two small adjustments for the coil, that was it really. maybe changed a connection or two for starter or altenator but thats 2 min job.

People talk about running a new coil wire to ignition because of the low voltage but I never done this and it ran fine.

I personally don't think theres any need to change the loom.

Should it be OK even when running 40's as well ? What about fuel lines etc ?

I don't really know much about this department lol

40s and fuel lines will have no extra effect on wiring as same coil and distributor etc used even with 40s
