I recently got a GSi spoiler for my 1.2!

How many ways can dey be fitted?

Do they need to have the special fitting clips or can it be done another ways without seeing it fall off doin 70 on da M25?

Cheers!

either use the proper four nuts and bolts or use stickoflex.

combination of both, or nuts and bolts and bonding trim tape is the best.

ive redlined my car in fifth, approx 125mph i think it was (down a hill  ), and both spoilers stayed on.

i have the wrap around one and a astra gte one bonded on top.

the astra one is held to the SR one by no less than 24 FAT self tapping screws and two hidden carriage bolts.

the sr spoiler stuck to the tailgate with industrial strength carpet floor tile tape  and the four nuts and bolts across the top

worked for me  8)

my experience is this -

the mk1 wrap round one can be stuck on without the bolts coz the sides act as a support - industrial strength double sided tape and epoxy resin help to keep it there

The mk2 spoiler however is heavier and for safety sake fit it using the bolts that go into the hatch and screws on using butterfly style nuts from inside.

DONT glue it on - if it comes off at speed and causes an injury you will get serverely bolloxed!

I recommend getting a body shop to fit it (?50 tops) - if you have a go yourself the angle to the hatch is about 40degrees - but again from experience its pure guesswordk and as you have to go through the outer and inner skin, you wanna get it right otherwise you'll have gaping holes that will leak!

i helped matters by drilling a slightly larger hole on the outside than required. that way it dosent matter if you get the angles wrong

outer holes being bigger is ok but you must make sure you fill them properly (use grey srtipe or similar - not silicone) otherwise water will get in and rust will start

i'm also fitting a GSI spoiler to my 1.2. It has a braklight in which is even more tricky but i have managed to poke the wire through the hatch and just need to finish it off tomo. Should look rather good. I am securing it with 4 self tapping screws from the inside of the hatch. THis is what the instructions told me and i am following the guide seen on Topbuzz.co.uk. Although the link isn't working anymore i downloaded a pdf guide. I got mine from Prosport.com.uk .
