My old one K671 YMJ is reg'd as a 2ltr, it doesnt matter about the number of valves as it only goes on cc, but that one is/was an XE

You'll still have to declare the engine conversion, so why does it matter what reg you use?

[edit] To clarify, mine is registered as 2962cc. But if I go put it into an online insurance quote thing it comes back as "1988 Nova 2dr Saloon 993".

You cant insure modded cars online, and even when you put the reg in it will still come up as the original model/engine.....
You have to ring them

The only online place that used to cover all mods online was HIC, but they stopped it a while back.
