Ok this is the first time ive messed about with a cylinder head i need advice.
today i borrowed a valve spring compressor and started taking the valves out of an E16SE Head, when i took one of the valves out the end of the valve guide snapped off, i though the head was just broke but my friend told me i can get a new guide ?
if i can does anyone know where i can get one or a pack from ?
from vauxhall,
did you use the spring compressor that you clamp down by hand or the twist in one?
i bet itwas the clamp down kind, did you slip off the springs at all as they you could have snapped one that way
you will probable need an engineer to press th old one out and put the new one in as they are seriously tight in there lol
dont go hitting it with a hammer either, will ponly make it worse

F*ck.
i used a spring compresser where it clamps on and then you turn it to tighten it. cant remember slipping.
you think any garages could possibly fit a valve guide ?
Find a engine builder etc, or ask garages, some can do.
someone with a press could do it probably, just needs to be very carefull
when i replaced my valve guides it needed alot of heat and a press
when you sat my cylinder head down to top part sat at an angle so you couldntjust press hem straight down they had to be pressed at an angle
not sure how nova heads are though

Ill have to ask about on monday. if no garages do it round here i think im fooked.
vauxhall will propably charge more to fix it than it would be for a new head out of the scrapyard i bet..
ask some engineers
my local agricultural engineer does alot of engine work
maybe worth a try ringing round

Dont know of any engineers round here.
Its a long shot but maybe halfrauds could do it ?

Any engineering machine shop should be able to do it for You and any decent motorfactors - not halfords - can get them. One was cracked on my 1300 head. It's a 10 min job!
ask in your local motorfactors where the nearest engineering shop is, theres bound to be one around you just dont no about it!

How far down has it broken? if the end is flush with the port you can still run with the broken one in place so long as there are no burrs.
