help xe inner cv joints

hi guys right im in the **** now, i bought a xe conversion kit of coline smith with the 1 inner cv joint missing now i ordered a mk2 cavi mk2 inner joint and the 1 they sent me fit but falls out the gearbox! now ive put it next to a standard nova one and there both 22 spline?? which 1 do i need? what spline?? help!!!

22 spline on the inside of the joint that goes on the driveshaft, was it a 1600 mk2 cavalier?

If it wasnt a 1600 its probably a small block joint, or you have got the circlip on the shaft. Does the end look the same size on both joints?

I was also about to ask if the circlip is fitted. Or have you not knocked it in far enough maybe?

Measure the spline part to compare. Diameter wise.

22/34 spline? i assume you mean the outer is 22 spline? since it would have been the outer you was having problems with?

The inner bit is 22 where it joins the shaft.
34 is the outer splines that go into the box.

cheers for the replys guys the outer bit that goes into the box has 22splines the same as and old std nova nova one? yeh the circlip is on that was my 1st though:( so basically the motor factors have sent me a small block 1600 outer cv??

When i got one of mine i said i want a cav mk2 1600 inner joint with 22/34 spline count, they asked me for the reg and i told them it was for a conversion, they rang the supplier who knew exactly what i was talking about:thumb:
