c20xe oil pump difference

hello im wanting to no can you use a late type oil pump on an early type set up as the late tpye has the extra casting for a tensioner.

yes if you get the mount machined down, i had to do this as i bought a genuine gm pump, you can only get the late type ones new now so to get them to work with old xe's machining is needed
