C16XE can easily get 150bhp and its lighter up front than a C20XE, this post has NOTHING to do with the fact there is a link to a C16XE sale thread in my sig.

lol - hardly 'easy' to get 150 GENUINE bhp from a 1600 imo

c20xe all day the cahs you will spend on a 1600 to get standard 2.0 power you could see a mild 160-170bhp from the 2.0

20xe 150 on tap in standard form after a thorough service, and if your planning on cams,tb's,remap etc should see you over the 180bhp mark imo

just what id like to do but need to save some serious pannies first lmao

remap on carbs? i thought the ecu went out the window :p, mine will be.

c16xe would be easier to fit i would imagine

Not really any easier, but no issues with beating alternator clearance, using special mounts or driveshafts.

2.0 8v on injection FTW :thumb:

iv had both im my car,

the 20xe was fast but didnt handle and chewed engine mounts and wasnt very reliable but its prob just my luck. best bit about it is i ran a 14.2 at santa pod:)

the 16xe was so much fun altho not as fast but i didnt care as it drove sooo much better.

this is my opinion by the way, id have a 16xe but up to you!

30 kg dif between the 2 motors and 40bhp more from the 20xe. if suspension is set up properly then you wont have any probs handling. as foir reliabilty its only as good as the conversion.

if after any parts or bits for the build elt me know, can get bearings gasket sets etc.

Reliabilty is down to the engine/conversion. Mines never let me down once and it gets used HARD everytime it goes out lol

CG-Dont see why anyone would want a 2.0 8v tbh??? lol As much work to fit as a xe, same cost for tax etc, and 20-30hp less??

it all depends on insurance and how much you have to spend on the conversion

small block 1800 FTW lol
