Hi all

im going to rebuilding my XE over the coming months and want to give it a higher spec im getting twin 45's to go on it so just wondering what else people would recomend me doing in trems of more revs, more torque and more bhp whilst trying to keep it as reliable as possible

any help on what people have now or have used in the past with good experiances and also what people have had bad experiance with and what to avoid

Thanks in advance

assuming you arent going nuts - 1612 cams, lighter fly, arps, and a decent 4 branch....

look on QED's website and SBD, they have alot of performance specifically for this engine. should be helpful for you.

and if you need any help rebuilding. i am building one atm, check my RWD build thread for loads of pics and info

Spare £12k?

My spec should serve you well.... If you do go for slippers, be prepared to pay for them - they are a bit more than 'normal' ones...

Head will cost around £2k if you are going to town

Pistons are around £600

Rods (non Japanese Cheese) £650 ish

etc etc..

Fair play if you go for it!

you got anymore info on these parts as in where to get them, when you say arps do you mean con rod bolts only or the head bolts and fly bolts aswell also what manifold would you recomend

one other thing with those cams would i need solid lifters and double valve springs or would standard new items do the trick

1612s just go straight in - you wont see a huge difference (a few bhp) but the different delivery is where its at!

Just get arp rod bolts - then (if you need to) you can rwev it harder for longer - just for longevity really.

SBD is teh obvious choice for the manifold as is Tony Law - but they arent cheap... Sportex do a cheaper alternative which are OK....

You dont want the top one - its more suited for a turbo - due to thickness, it would lower your CR...
