Hi next year were taking part in a scumball style rally across europe. There will be 3 of us per car and need some ideas for a car idealy it needs to be:

Comfy
Realible
Under £1200 (the cheaper the better!)
Big power with decent top speed

Also would like it to be rear wheel drive(doesnt matter if it isnt just takes some of the fun out of it:d ) and not too bothered about mpg!

If your not fussed about MPG then a Lexus would be a good bet.
If a IS200 is still a little dear (you can pick them up for close to £1200 but will be a tatty astromiler) then the LS are alot cheaper.

Fast, fun, cheap, reliable, sounds a winner to me:thumb:

Hey man, I like Nova's (who'd have thought it) lol
However...

needs to be:

Comfy
Realible
Under £1200 (the cheaper the better!)
Big power with decent top speed

Also would like it to be rear wheel drive(

A Nova will only tick two of those boxes, and not both at the same time. lol

L14 has the right idea!

volvo!!

I bought a sh*tter for £50, it hadn't been run in about 3 years, we trailored it to the mot station, put a jump pack on it (because the battery was dead) drove it off the trailor, took it in and it passed, then proceeded to abuse it around warrington for the next 3-4 months, the damn thing was unkillable

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/Unicorn007/LC3/DSCF0100.gif

and the only thing it got was a tyre so soft stones got stuck in it lol

oh and it topped out at 140, it was only a 1.8 lol

GSi Cavalier FTW. Smart looking, can be economical and can kick their heels nicely.

As for the old 5 series, thats more designed for a load of guys clad in fake gold that own the local takeaway unless its the E39 in which case its ****ing sweet.

I was going to say Cav GSi, if not that then, well it isnt really a big comfy car, but its bigger than a nova.

I cant see how a car (read barge) with around a 100/tonne could be considered 'bloddy fast'?!

As for the old GM Barge, what about a Carlton Diamond? Estate and 3.0 24v as standard with fuill heated leathers? Uprate the exhaust and it brings you an extra 12-15 bhp alone!

as said, 3 up and there's plenty of room in a JZA70!

How is that failing!?!

Comfy - check, both. The hilux could drive over the himalayas without feeling a jolt
Reliable - both are toyotas so will never break
Cost - both can be had for <£1200 with ease
Speed - 2.5 straight six twin turbo much? lol

E34 5 series if you want manual or a E32 if you don't mind auto
Audi 100/early a6 with quattro
W126 merc or maybe a W124 - old W123s are getting harder to find now, unless you want to buy my 1977 manual 2 litre W123 in leaf green for £800. It's valid for classic insurance and situated in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
