Howdy,

what do I need in terms of oil type and amount?
Any recommendations for new leads and plugs?
Was going to have sump gasket replaced too and is it best just replacing that or getting the baffle too?

Sometimes the car seems to hunt to 3k when hot, so don't think its the ICV, so AFM, or something else?

oil - 10/40 semi or fully synth (dont go nuts)
leads - vauxhall (or autovaux as members get discount iirc)
same for plugs.

get the bvaffle plate gasket as its easier to replace but dont forget to put washes on the nusts as they will bottom out,because doing the sump gasket with the other ones upside down sucks!

dont spend a forutune or worry too much about the spec... far too much BS floating around about oil etc.

unless you can get a set of superconductor leads (lol) then imho for 95% of XE's in most states of tune the std leads will be fine.

take the ICV off and clean with WD40, check the thin little piece inside the AFM is still in tact, could also be TPS maybe CTS or maybe just something as simple as an air leak on a hose

for the price of a known working icv just buy one. infact i have several.

Don't think it's the icv but in saying that some mornings it'll cut out but that's differnt to it idling at 3k
