nah i want to change the carb
nah i want to change the carb
keep your existing carb & post me all your spare petrol.....
put simply, a carb swap on a 1.0 is simply not worth it. the best advise i can give you is to put whatever money you plan to spend on modding the 1.0 into a cocoa tin under your bed, and then eventually you'll have enough cash to buy a decent engine that will be bigger capacity & more tuneable

1litre engine is ohv with siamese ports.
1.2-1.6 is ohc and crossflow ports.
Manifolds are a no go. You'd need to run an adapter plate, or use a manifold off a chevette or opel kadett.

thus don't bother

ok well it's my first car i want to do mods to it i dont what it does if it makes it faster im happy ok
if i was you mate i would wait til you have clocked up some NCB (no claims bonus) and tidy the exterior up.
then when you can afford to run and insure, buy a bigger engine and put that in. even if its only a 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.6.
there is more to novas than redtops and lets :)

Not nova ones. Nova ones are 4 cylinder, overhead valve.

oh yeah its the corsa 1.0 12v that threw me...!
the 'rules' from Mr Chapman (Lotus to you heathens that done know)
1. Make it Handle
2. Make it Stop
3. Make it Go faster
so Decent suspension/geometry setup, decent brakes + tyres then think about the engine as the car will have out grown the engine rather than the other way round

ok
can i get a kn wgich would fit it ?? anyone no ??
bin the text typing!
that wasn't text typing..... just a mistake in typing which & a bad spelling of know..
so are you after performance or noise???? cos a k&n on a 1.0 just makes a sucking noise & no more power
dropping 50% of the letters from a word is going to be largely text typing ;)
N2O is about the best option for the 1.0 :d

ok, stu.....

again, the cost of it means you may as well get a std 1300, and pay the insurance.
