when i replaced my valve guides it took a lot of heat to get them out

they need alot of pressure to push them out dont just hit them with a hammer

try and get a bit metal rod machined so that part of it sits inside the guide and the rest sits on top so when you do hit it it will nt collapse down

mine were removed with a press after having a bit welded so there was plenty heat in it

Its a specialist job, take it to a michine shop/engine builder.
The guides might only be a quid each, but in the wrong hands you could ruin a £100 cylinder head.

We used to just freeze them and then press them in streight away, no heat involved when we did it but they had to be fresh out of the freezer and into the head within a few seconds

i used heat to remove them not to put the new ones in
