Can anyone point me to a site or wotever to help me track down an old car and number plate that a friend owned once? He would like to trace it if poss?

you could run a HPi check..............?

that will tell u its last keepers and if its still alive and kicking or crushed

Nowhere that will give you the keepers details unfortunately...
You need to find a friendly :o copper who can do it for you..........

or

Write to the dvla wiht a good enuff reason and they will tell you the owners details....(a good reason could be he is constantly blocking my driveway during the day and need to track him to warn him etc....but this wouldnt be much use if the car is now at the opposite end of the country would it...)

I traced my mums first car by ringing the DVLA. I rang the section that now sells there number plates and asked if it was availble and they said no, i asked why not, they replied with it is still in use. So then i asked if i could have a contact address to ask if they would consider selling the plate. Bingo. Dont know if its standard pratice or if i was a charmer :wink:
