Door pins lol
These must have been the worst ever design on a nova. I know exactly what ya mean mate. You should be able to get the top one out with a punch ok but the bottom one is another story. I tried for hours to get the bottom one out and couldnt so gave up. Took it to the local vauxhall dealers, they had it for 4 hours and said they couldnt get it out without damaging the door.

Therefore the only way I know that you can get them out is 1 grind it off or 2 heat it up and cut through it. I think that whatever happens you will probably end up damaging the door. Vauxhall said to me that the only way to get around it is that i bought new doors for it and they would cut the old ones off. The price for a brand new door is ?200 +.

However my car is now at rj automotive and they are changing the door pins but not sure how, i will find out for u, but they are also respraying the car so if they damage the doors they will be able to respray over them anyway.

i think hen people drill them out they put corsa pins back in as they are a better design and also slightly bigger

YOU CANT DRILL THEM OUT!

I know I tried! I actually drilled through my door skin to try! :o

you need a hinge pin removal tool

Sykes Pikavant do them (halfords) - or take it to Vauxhall, ask them to start the job for you and replace with Cavvy pins (they are longer)

GOOD GOD! you lot like doing it the hard way don't you. Go to Machine Mart and buy the hinge pin removal tool, it costs ?10. you then WD40 the pins and have a cup of tea.

drop the right screw-rod into the bottom pin and then hit it "UPWARDS" til it's clear. Get a mate to hold the door. Now fit the tool into the top pin and hit this "DOWNWARDS" and the door will come away.

You can use the old pins to refit the door. You do this by sitting the bar on the pin and either knocking it down or up as required.

You don't need a removal tool, but It took me an hour without one.

removal tool makes it a lot lot easier- just watch your sills when you hammering the bottom one......took me about 30 mins per door (not including swapping all the electric gubbins over)

You can get a door off in 30 seconds with a door pin remover

when pins are loose as fcuk, been soaking for about 3 weeks in wd40 AND have already been started so the part of the hinge pin is sticking proud so you can get a set of mole grips on it.

Have to admit I had one of my doors off in 15 mins - couldnt get the other one off - absolute basturd!
