Thanks to Lynz and Dougie for sorting it out for me, and being reasonably priced too! Despite going from bristol to essex and back again with stops at reading in between they were the cheapest and most reasonable option I found :)

Basically reshelling my old one atm with some refinements so it's a better base for future tinkering, i'd like to play around with a 1.6 8v turbo track car eventually.

So who's car was this?
Looks like a good base to build from mate, hope it goes well.

euro_sbd, he had big plans for it but a new business and drift car meant he had no time or money spare for it. His drifter is pretty awesome though :)

good job. Looks a decent shell

It's pretty good, theres a couple of cosmetic bits of rust that need fixing but it's structurally sound, a lot better than my current one for sure :)

Looks good, is it an SR ? love the colour.

Technically, yeah, it used to be a silver 1400 sr, since which it's been barried up a bit and resprayed mustard yellow (still has a smooth boot on it) stripped down to a bare shell and due to be built back up with a mix of mk1 and mk2 bits so... realistically, no :p More like an SR replica.

Well if its a proper SR shell, i think you should keep it yellow because thats the best colour for them, then build it all up with the sport interior and vinyl along the bottom. original.

Was waiting for someone to jump onto what it says on the logbook :p Hardly original if it's been chopped about 6 times and resprayed a different colour to what it should be, it'll be staying mustard yellow as I love the colour, and will be mk1 SR styled, but I have no intentions of putting a full interior etc in it.

I forgot to introduce myself until I was literally stepping into your car as it is, like I'd remember to introduce me as my real name, old forum name and new forum name lol

Hmm, should have said kent, much the same distance anyway... I just did the reading to kent and back bit, worked out cheaper through Lynz than to go with a recovery firm 30mins from the shell pick up though.
glad its gone to a good home he couldnt shift it for ages!i suspect because of his location
location is nothing lol i traveled to kent for my pea green :)
shell looks good mate :thumb:
Another mk2 owner converted lol :d

Wish there was less converts though, can't shift GSi bumpers atm :( lol
edit: and as said location doesn't really matter to some, if I had the towing gear etc myself I probably would have done a days driving for it if I had to. My bucket seats were in ipswich when I picked those up, and I stopped off in essex on the way back too lol

Come on what have you done to it, should be half built by now! lest chat more action lol

I can't even afford a can of primer to start cleaning any of it up yet lol Hopefully be able to start on it when a few of the bits off the red one have sold, but I need to get my hands on a welder first, which is gonna cost a bit, and I want to cage it before I put it all back together, so it just depends when I get the money back together for those bits.
Once that's sorted it's just a case of bolting everything on from the red shell, plus a few nice bits that came with the yellow one, and hopefully it'll be ready to run again, with other nice shiny bits coming later when I have the money :d

Sell everything you can mate, any thing you dont use (as in none car related) and sell it all..
I do/did this, it's good way of gaining cash.
