Ofcourse it can make it but it all depends on your maintainance of the car:d

depends how well maintained yours is and what engine size etc. ive never had a problem. Just always take some water with you as you should with most old engines
join the aa/rac/green flag ask for Berts number(flat bed owner) Dougie now as it would be cheaper than joining on the side of the at 4.30 pm.
Yeah ya should be fine dude, i had to go pick a mate up from exeter before as he had gotten himself arrested for slotting and his mates bailed on him, my mate had a T reg 2.0 megane coupe and didnt think it would make it so i got elected to go get him in my H reg 1.2 carb nova, took a mate with me for spare driver should i need relieving and set off about midnight, back home by about ten am the next day and she never missed a beat:d

Been on many long motorway trips in the Nova (1.2 carb) even with 4 extra passnegers on occasions. Kept up well with my dads SRi Cav, hardly used up any water, no problems no complaints. If you service yours all the time, it's not making any funny noises everything is running as it should then it should be absolutley fine.
Long runs are good for engines anyway. I'd say don't worry, just take some water as its been said just incase and check everything before you leave.

u might wanna get out to stretch your legs every 2/3 hours, otherwise your back and legs will turn into the shape of a nova cockpit lol
should be fine on the motoring front, as long as your not thrashing it :thumb:

i used to break my nova ever 30 miles. used to come the "long way home" from work over the country lanes and thrash the life out of it. when i got hom eit would slowly die down to regular idle then usually burst a water pipe.
oh i loved that car so much personality
Rigging bandits, playing them with cheats so youre guarranteed to win/repeat/go red and roll type of thing, we calls it 'slotting' lol

My 1.2i does 2 long trips every year nearly (700 mile on a weekend)
From East Ayrshire (Scotland) to Santa Pod/Billing Aquadrome
Never misses a beat - Could do with a 5th gear though lol

I owed the lad i was picking up about £40 iirc, he cancelled the debt and i was given £100 at the start of the trip for fuel and suchlike, i think i still had about £40 left after fuel and buying all three of us breakfast on the return trip:thumb:
:) Proper mates. The way it should be. Bet I can't rep you. lol
Aye and it was a random jolly out, iirc spotted and got nods/waves off three other novas/drivers too, good times lol
Edit, was in this little beasty too....

My 12k 1.2i was driven foot to the floor all the way to Pod from here in Somerset. 2 up with camping gear etc I had her at 90mph pretty much all the way. It didnt miss a beat, nor use much fuel.
I'm not one for caning cars but 1200 SPi's are pretty restricted engines tbh.
It's not just the engine to worry about, a grumbly wheel bearing isnt something I would want to head off on a long trip with..... Novas are simple things though & should get you home safe.

When I bought my 1.2, I drove it from Essex to Holyhead and then to Dublin to the North of Ireland. It never missed a beat!
My 1.2i went oxford-reading-southampton-essex-oxford in a day before, never totally let me down in the whole time I had it, even went from oxford to reading with a stat stuck closed!
Don't be mard, of course it will. Presuming it's well maintained! My lil' Nova drove 8 countries, 1200 miles in one day!
I drove one to dusseldorf from oxford via dover in a day. and it ran perfectly

I think I need another nova Spi. My Golf has me stranded again. been at my mates house for 5 hours now. 1 coil & £4 of fuel & its still misfiring & spluttering. If I miss work tomorrow, I am going to have it crushed & post the video on the net.

Modern cars suck, old school all the way lol Was reading about the new-ish 3.2 v6 vectra in TV earlier, and you can't put throttle bodies on it because it refuses to work with the CANbus system

i did 500ish and only stopped half hour in thatr
novas are very resilient creatures. when I finally got my current one on the road after 9 years of doing nowt, it had done no more than 5 miles at any one time , and that was on its way to its mot. the following day I did 200 miles with absolutely no trouble.

Now go do a celebratory burnout.
Now go check all your fluid levels and have a spy at your oil see if it needs a service, keep on top of little bits and bobs and novas will never ever let you down, ive had one have a terminal headgasket failiure, and run on 2.5/3 cylinders all the way home from near hornsea to hull before now and it still drove to my mates garage the next day too :d
